Why 2016 stock market would perform better than 2015

Finally, 2016 financial year is here and investors are poised for a great investment year backed by rigorous analysis and best investment strategies.
In adopting the appropriate strategy for the year, investors would be concerned about the impact of the 2016 elections on the stock market. Election years in Ghana are characterized by high deficits, rising inflation as a result of excessive spending, low direct foreign investments, declining cedi and rising interest rates. Following this development, most investors adopt a conservative strategy by investing in fixed income instruments or a “wait and see” attitude as they hold a pessimistic view on stocks.

The Mutual Fund Fallacy: Why Mutual Funds Are The Worst Investments

The last time I put my money in a mutual fund and made something substantial was about 3 years ago. (And that was EPACK - What I used to call the Praise-the-Lord Fund). Unlike what some analysts always advice, I do not diversify my portfolio with mutual funds managed by other firms. I have over the years evaluated some mutual funds in Ghana ,and thought the brilliance of their fund managers is enough to grow the fund. That did not happen. Young investors mostly start with mutual funds, others use the safe income Mutual funds as their "Savings Account" and argue that those are better options than what their banks offer them.
